Coach Biography – Roy Perales

Coach Roy Perales serves as the Head Wrestling Coach at Nampa High School, bringing nearly three decades of experience, leadership, and passion to the Bulldog wrestling program. In addition to his coaching career, Coach Perales is a successful business owner and real estate agent, demonstrating the same dedication and work ethic that he brings to athletics.

Coach Perales began his wrestling journey as a collegiate wrestler at Clackamas Community College from 1996–1999. He transitioned into coaching immediately, starting as an Assistant Wrestling Coach at Kraxberger Middle School (Gladstone, OR) in 1999. In 2000, he moved to Idaho, serving as an Assistant Wrestling Coach at West Middle School and Nampa High School.

From 2001–2002, Coach Perales was the Head Wrestling Coach at Potlatch Middle/High School, while also serving as an Assistant Football Coach at PHS. He then returned to the Treasure Valley as an Assistant Wrestling Coach at Boise High School (2002–2005) before launching a long and impactful tenure at Nampa High School and West Middle School. From 2002–2014, he coached both football and wrestling, serving as both a head coach and assistant coach during that time.

From 2009–2019, Coach Perales also served as the President of the Bulldog Wrestling Club, playing a critical role in developing youth wrestling in the community and strengthening the Bulldog wrestling pipeline. Since 2019, he has proudly led the program as the Head Wrestling Coach at Nampa High School.

Coach Perales attended both Clackamas Community College and the University of Idaho, continuing his education while building one of the most respected wrestling programs in the area.

Off the mat, Coach Perales recently celebrated 25 years of marriage with his wife, Krist, this July. They are proud parents to three children—Mikel, Marcos, and Graiclen—and are excited to welcome their first grandchild soon. Family, faith, and community remain central to everything he does.
